Bongcheon Ghost v Oculus: Karen Gillan Gets Cute in Korean Comic!

oculus_korea

Remember that infamous Korean webcomic The Bong-Chon Dong Ghost (봉천동 귀신) which went viral worldwide a few years back? Its creator Ho-Rang (호랑) has been tapped on the shoulder by WWE Studios to promote its latest horror Oculus in time for the movie’s South Korea release on May 29th, bringing along with him the javascript triggers and sounds that brought the animated parts of Bong-Cheon Dong Ghost to such terrifying life in 2011.

Fans of Doctor Who (닥터후) and its regular sidekick Amy Pond (에이미 폰드) will know the film already as the first Hollywood role for Karen Gillan (카렌 길런), who features in the exclusive manga comic as the movie’s hero Kaylie Russell. See Gillan looking cute and cartoonified amongst Studio Ho-Rang’s signature chills as they jump out at you from the screen in his latest manhwa webtoon at Naver, a prequel simply titled 오큘러스 웹툰 (Oculus Webtoon). Scared already? Be warned: it’s all in Korean! A good chance to practice your hangul, perhaps.
