By Giacomo Lee. Read the dark side to Seoul city in his novel Funereal, out now on Amazon UK & US.
Last time Trickster Trickster talked about Snowpiercer 설국열차, it was a blog post written a week or so after the movie’s release in Korea on its use of a food stuff similar to South Korean snack yeonyanggaeng 연양갱. That was ten months ago, and the movie is only getting its first ever DVD release this July 2014 in Korea (perhaps due to Weinstein-related delays on the movie’s release date in America and the rest of the West?)
The amazing sci-fi film will finally be released in USA cinemas for the first time on June 27th, but before then you could try importing this Region A blu-ray steelbook release from South Korea, with postcards, art cards, plus a limited edition 188 page art book and numbering card to go with it. I chose this Kimchi DVD graphic simply as it’s the only one to show off the postcards, but there are various other retailers you could try shipping it from. I’ll keep an eye out for the release myself in Seoul’s HotTracks chain stores (and hope it features the 140 minute director’s cut that America will see, but ironically wasn’t shown in Korea, which, like France, only got the regular 120 minute version!)
